Application brief review

Begin with room dimensions, audience planes, rigging or stand locations, event type, target listening level, and available electrical service. This review separates hard constraints from preferences. A touring package may prioritize handling and fast recall, while a fixed installation may put sightlines, weather exposure, zoning, or architectural integration first. The output is a question list and an agreed evaluation order, not a performance guarantee.

Coverage and format comparison

Compare point-source, column, and line-array approaches by coverage geometry, listening distance, deployment time, and low-frequency strategy. Nominal dispersion is a starting value; boundaries, trim height, aiming, and audience slope all influence the result. Candidate configurations remain provisional until modeled or measured under the actual project conditions.

Signal and power worksheet

Map source devices, routing, processing, amplifier or powered-loudspeaker connections, branch circuits, cable paths, and fallback operation. The worksheet identifies connector transitions and preset ownership before the system reaches site. It also records who may change limiters, delays, filters, or routing so later troubleshooting starts from a known state.

Commissioning checklist

Use a repeatable sequence: inspect mounting and cabling, verify polarity, confirm gain structure, load the approved preset, test individual zones, measure representative positions, and listen with speech and program material. Results depend on the room, placement, and calibration. Outdoor exposure, temporary rigging, or unusual power conditions require qualified local review.

Translate the technical configuration into named operating modes, start-up and shutdown order, safe adjustment limits, and fault-escalation steps. A short handoff is especially useful in houses of worship, schools, hospitality venues, and multipurpose rooms where the day-to-day operator may not be the system designer.
